Happily, your blog did not disappear from my dashboard! I had no idea what to expect. What are you going to do about your newest resident?

Now that your PROCEDURE is over, I'll share this hilarious spoof produced by Patricia Raymond, a gastroenterologist.

Oh yuk!!!!! How does one get rid of one of those?

Oh, no! I have an interesting hole under a pile of wood in my back yard. Hoping it is a rabbit den and not a "skunque" lair!

Wait until they leave to forage for the night and plug up the hole. Putting a lamp under the house so it's bright instead of dark will also discourage them. A skunk sprayed under my house while I was away at a quilt retreat last fall. I couldn't stop laughing, it was so horrible. My daughter was not amused but had it all cleaned up before I got home.

We've found some interesting critters, but, not skunks, thank goodness. Smelly! Got stung by a wasp one time, just stepping off the porch. Thank goodness I'm not allergic. But, boy, did it hurt!

"Stinking" things up a bit around there, are you?

I'm glad your procedure is over and oh boy....a skunk, hope it leaves soon!

Gosh over here in New Zealand, it never ever occurred to me that skunk would take residence under people's houses! Oh dear!! Rats are the worse we get here. Pleased your procedure is over with.

Glad you got through the procedure OK. Jane the spoof is hillarious. I have heard that putting moth balls under the porch helps keep them away---competing scents?

We had one of those under our shed. We waited until s/he left the den for the evening (they are nocturnal) and threw some moth balls in the hole. Then we laid chicken wire down all around the foundation and covered it with dirt. It hasn't been back. Yay!
