I guess I am just going to have to top off the week with more toilet humor…it has just been that kind of week. I wrote those posts early in the week …just in case…so here’s the update. The night before I was supposed to “do the drink” our plumbing backed up. In the understatement of the year, my husband said,
“You had better call the plumber because in 24 hours you are REALLY going to need the toilet”.
Long story short…all plumbing in this house is now working just fine.
When I was finally feeling well enough to log on to my computer I saw the some blog friends had left links to videos that were absolutely hilarious. Seriously, I’m not sure it is advisable to laugh that hard after having a colonoscopy. I’m passing them on to you because, well, if we can’t laugh about this stuff there is no hope for us.
This first offering is an animated gem from a gastroenterologist…I think..I was laughing too hard at the end to read:
This one is from Billy Connolly (a tad R-rated for those with sensitive ears)…dear Lord that man is funny:
This one is not a video but from one of my all time favorite writers Dave Barry:
Now, to make up for this abundance of toilet humor I am having a give-away this weekend for an Easy Dresden Ruler.
This method is so much fun! It’s a perfect combination of piecing and appliqué and you can make Dresden Plates in a snap! It will definitely come in handy for my new pattern…which I’m hoping will be up in the shop soon.
To enter please leave a comment telling us what’s your favorite…cupcakes or brownies?
I’m off to do more leaves for my Dresden Plate quilt….there are a LOT of leaves.

Brownies with nuts (no pun intended)

My favorite is BROWNIES--butterscotch to be specific.
I'm glad everything came out okay in the end--for you AND Billy Connolly!

My favorite is brownies, Ghiradelli to be exact. The box from the grocery store has the best chocolate flavor. I want to try the Dresden plates so I'm buying one of these rulers if I don't win. Too busy working on My Tweets right now anyway. I just found your blog in November so I'm behind! Oops, that was not intended to be a behind joke.

I like whichever has more frosting, which is usually a cupcake.

Brownies for sure!

Tofu Brownies that I make myself and sometimes bake them in muffin cups so they look like a cupcake. Believe me they are so good that NO ONE knows they are made with tofu and everyone always asks for the recipe once they taste them. They are a bit more on the cakey side that a traditional brownie, and they are egg free, dairy free and oh so yummy!

Yummy, brownies!

I like cupcakes because I like the frosting!! Your dresden plate quilt is just gorgeous. I'm working on one, too, something a little different. I've been holding off getting a ruler because of finances, but it sure would make the process go so much smoother!! Maybe my dresden plates would come out as beautiful as yours!! Glad you have that nasty test behind you now!! I was chicken and never went for mine!

Since its first edition in 1931, The Joy of Cooking has included a recipe for Cockaigne Brownies... My favorite. I add 1/4 salt and 1 tbsp instant coffee to the batter. As with any simple recipe, better quality ingredients shine. Thanks for the chance to win the ruler... B

I learned how to decorate cakes because I love the frosting. As my husband says, "Have a little cake with your frosting." But I love brownies too. If I had to choose, I'd take one of each!

Cupcakes, preferably spice with penuche icing.
You have to laugh about something like that or else you will go batty.

As much as I love brownies I would have to say that cup cakes take the cake. You can flavor cupcakes into all sorts of flavors. Including brownie. And because of this they are my superior. Thank you for the opportunity for a give away and some humor to start my morning off.
