One of the best things I get to do at McCall’s Quilting (and there are tons of fun things to do at work) is work with great designers. Gerri Robinson of Planted Seed Designs has been one of my favorites from the get go. So, as you might imagine, when she asked me to adapt some embroidery patterns to appliqué patterns I jumped at the chance. It was so much fun! This quilt is the result! Gerri wrote a wonderful post about our collaboration that you can read here:
Hello friends! Here is a shot of my design wall this morning. I hope I will be able to get the directions ready soon. I am currently in the final stages of getting everything ready for the McCall's Quilting Cruise so it may not get posted until I get back. So sorry about this but my life is just CRAZY right now. If you are going on the cruise be sure to let me know so I can be on the lookout for you!
Head on over to Judy's blog for a healthy dose of inspiration.
So, here is my sweet little daisy quilt all ready for it's binding. Name ideas anyone? This will be in an issue of McCall's Quick Quilts later this year.
I just love they way my good buddy Karen, of The Quilted Moose, quilted it. I always get so ecited when she calls to tell me a quilt is ready. Her quilting transforms the quilt and some days I am speechless. Just look at her quilting in the background of these applique blocks!
Be sure to check back tomorrow so I can show you some fun quilting on the Fancy Flowers Quilt Along quilt!
When I first started my healthy eating campaign it was spring and I ate LOADS of salads. Somehow, when it's cold and windy outside, salad doesn't sound that appealing. So this winter I have been trying to make a big casserole each weekend that my family can eat for lunch during the week. I am a little nuts for butternut squash so I came up for a recipe for black bean squash enchiladas that is perfect on a cold winters day. The trick to enchiladas for me is to not even try to fill tortillas and roll them up. I just cut them into quarters and layer them like lasagna instead. It's much easier! If you don't eat cheese, just omit it. It's still yummy.
