It’s really hard for me to give exact fabric amounts for these BOM’s since they are truly a work in progress. So, as in years past, here are some suggestions.
For the all applique project, you will need:
Background fabric: 4 yards
Sashing and binding: 1 yard
For this quilt I started with a multicolor print that I LOVED! From there I choose 4 -6 greens (you can never have too many greens in my world), a few different pinks, 2 different turquoises, a yellow and an orange. For these flower and leaf fabrics I bought ½ yards.
For the pieced project, I worked with a fat quarter pack and added background fabric for the large center block (3/4 yard), sashing (1 yard), and border and binding (2 ½ yards).
This project is going to be mix-n-match so there will be options several different things. You can make your project with a combination of pieced and appliqued blocks. You can have plain fabric border or an appliqued border. This project is completely adaptable to your style. As far as fabric goes, in my mind you can’t go wrong if you pick a multicolor fabric that you absolutely love and then pick fabrics to coordinate with that.
Maybe some day I will be better at organizing but for now this is the best I can do. It’s always fun for me to start what happens as the projects evolve. I hope this gives you enough to work with. So…let’s get started!
Happy New Year!
