So, last spring I decided to try selling digital patterns. I was a little scared when I signed up because I just didn’t know how it would go. Also, printing costs were killing me so I had to raise the cost of my print patterns as well. After 4 months I have decided to go back to print patterns and I have found a way to get the printing price down so I can sell at my old price.
What happened? Well to be totally honest, my sales really nose-dived. As in less than 20% of what they had been before. And they continued to dive for the 4 months I tried this. I really have no idea why this happened. It could have been any number of things; loss of interest, going out of style, piracy (I sure hope not) or just the natural evolution of things. I really don’t want to spend too much time thinking about this to tell the truth. I have never really been about making a ton of money here. I just enjoy designing and making quilts and am happy to share with people. The pattern sales have pretty much supported this website and allowed me to keep designing new things which I also share. I have another job that helps with family expenses.
So, long story short, I am only selling through my Etsy Shop right now. I still plan to have a few digital patterns, mostly of the smaller projects. All other patterns will come snail mail. I still ship anywhere, actually that was something I really missed…I loved addressing the envelopes and sending them to all the cool places everyone lives.
Oh, one more thing……to keep the printing cost down I had to eliminate the photographed appliqué directions from the pattern. Fear not! Now they are in the Free Downloads sections of the blog or you can just download them here:

By the way, did anyone notice the lack of ads? More on that later.
