When I first started this blog I knew I wanted to talk about quilting and maybe some photography but one of my favorite things to do is TRAVEL. It doesn’t matter if it is a driving trip or a European vacation I just love it. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn’t have a camera on two of my most life changing travel experiences. So, now I have a camera (well two actually) and here is my first travel post.
After years of staying home while my husband went to interesting places for work I decided out family needed an adventure. I had recently started working again so this was finally in the realm of the affordable. My friend Sheena had been visiting so I started asking her about Ireland. You see, Sheena’s parents are from Ireland and I knew she traveled there often. Well, lucky for us her mother was visiting at the same time and said that she would set us up. She asked when we wanted to travel and off she went. About a month later Sheena contacted me about a house on the Isle of Doagh in County Donegal. Mary, Sheena’s mum, had a friend whose family had a farm on the Isle of Doagh and they rented out their extra house to family friends. We were all booked for the first few weeks of July.
Now, I hate to say it, but I’m used to American travel. You know, the kind that involves credit cards and reservation numbers. So my directions for this adventure were a little intimidating. We had to fly to Belfast, rent a car, drive to Ballyliffen, find Rose McLaughlin and she would give us the key to the house. After a few deep breaths I booked four plane tickets. We were not disappointed. It turns out this little house was on an actual working farm complete with sheep, cows and border collies. The extra added benefit was the drop dead sea side views on three sides of us.
The extra extra added benefit was there was a castle ruin right across the street (if you could call it that). Lucky us.
Nice! More categories, please! Let's have one all about your fabulous friends!

Never thought of it that way, but it really does make sense now. A little bit in a hurry, didn't get to read everything but will definitely come back later to finish everything. This is my very first comment, I think I like this!
