Design Wall Monday

Happy Monday everyone. I want to thank all of you who left such sweet and courageous comments about my post on Friday.

Today I want to participate in “Design Wall Monday”. I first saw this on John Kubiniec’s blog. John is a fellow McCall’s Design Star contestant who writes the awesome blog Big Rig Quilting. (Don’t for get to check out his very fun quilt “Gameboard”).The idea began with Judy Laquidara from  Patchwork Times. She has a group of people who share what’s on their design walls on Monday. After checking my design wall you can click over to her site and see what other people are up to. It’s really fun to see what people are working on.

So, as you can see from my picture I’m finishing up Florabunda. I’ve tried to conceal the last three blocks so I don’t ruin the surprise for anyone. I’m a party pooper I know. You can also see that I’m starting to add the sawtooth borders. Look for a tutorial on that later this week. I can hardly believe that it’s this close to being done. What a journey. The best part is that many of you have joined in with me to create your own beautiful quilts. I didn’t imagine when I started this blog last year that this would have been such a fun thing and that I would have gotten to “meet” (albeit virtually) so many wonderful people.

It's gorgeous Erin. My fabric arrived for this quilt last week... yes, I'm a late starter. It'll be a birthday gift for my folks' 60th next year. I'm using a light yellow for the background and rich/dark hued fabrics for the applique.
