« Great Balls of Fire...I've been NOMINATED! | Main | Yesterday's Block as a Mini Quilt »

I thought Spring had sprung but woke up to 3" of new snow this morning after having 60 and 70 degree days the past couple of weeks. So I am looking forward to green grass, bleeding hearts, tulips and Virginia Bluebells..and a blooming Redbud tree. Love the look of Kay's new book too!!

Backbasting looks very interesting. My favorite spring thing is flowers, followed closely by all the twittering birds!

am most looking forward to spending more time outside! It has been so beautiful here the last few weeks.

I am most lloking forward to no more shoveling snow, to the flowers blooming, and sitting outside in the sunshine to applique.

Probably too late for the book but I do look forward to the trees turning green again and the pretty flowers. I think that is the reason I love your designs.. so many pretty flowers in them.. thanks for a great blog and instructions..

I love backbasting. It is my preferred method of applique. Looks like a wonderful book with some lovely patterns...
Pick me...Pick me !!

You did a marvelous job with the applique!! I love the colours you chose too! This would be an awesome book to have - please count me in for the givewaway!!

Thanks for sharing the applique tip! I think this book would be awesome to win.

Oop...forgot about the spring part...I got so excited about the book...LOL
Looking forward to seeing the first blossoms on the cherry and apple trees...the geese have already come back and the deer are grazing in the alfalfa field behind our house...

I'm looking forward to my bones thawing out LOL.

The book looks great and if my appliques can look like that, well, I would be tickled pink! Right now I mostly do raw edge. I always look forward to your posts, they are colorful and bright!

I look forward to being able to get outside and do something in the garden. We live where it snows all winter, so I am really ready for Spring.

When we moved, I gained a sewing room with a western exposure--all that sunlight pouring in throughout the day really saves on the light bill. With daylight savings time now in full swing, I can now be working in my favorite room even AFTER dinner and still benefit from all the natural light coming through the windows--YEA!

Thanks for showing us how you tackle your projects; I've learned some things and am attempting the spray starch and templar method for applique now.

Hmmm, I think she's got something there! Came out great. Something I'm looking forward to with better weather is traveling around more -- I really want to drive up to Asheville NC!

Great job on the new applique method! That book is on my most wanted list. LOL

The thing I'm looking forward to the most right now is not having to scrape the ice and snow from my car before I go anywhere. The calendar says it's spring, but it has
snowed every day this week. :o(

Oh how I wish to put on a shirt with short sleeves and have bear legs again!

I look forward to taking walks without checking the weather and temperature! I can't wait to just get outside.

Mum's tulips breaking through the ground and dazzling me again just as they did last year(..couldn't stop drooling). Their glorious colour and translucency completely held my attention for days and brought great joy.

I bought the starch this week to try your method. I've been working on the Rose of Sharon blocks. Will the reverse method work on those blocks?
I'm looking forward to planting this spring. I've already started some seed in the kitchen window. I have tomato plants an inch high. It gives me hope that summer will be here soon! Yeah!

Spring brings lots of inspiration for applique, but I never have been much of a summer girl. After this long and snowy winter, I am definitely ready for a little sunshine.

Great job. I like and use that technique some. small pointy scissors are great for taking out the basting thread too.

I'm still waiting for Spring. We had 9" of snow last week and now they're calling for more Thursday night. However, looking forward to our Spring Quilt Retreat!!! Leaving Wednesday morning and who cares if it snows!!! We are there until Sunday!!! Would love to win this book. I've heard so much about back basting and your sample makes me want to try it.!
