Here are a few pointers on making the flowers for block 4. Some of you might remember a little tutorial I did about using my petal technique to make heart shaped petals. Here is a similar tutorial on how I did the petals for those large pink flowers in block 4. These are a little different since the petal is wide.
Here is my template.
Here is my cut out fabric.
Start by sewing a small running stitch all the way around the petal.
Now place the fabric right side down and place the template on top.
Holding onto both ends, pull the thread until the fabric cinches in.
Dab with starch.
Press the indent first.
Then move to one side and press that.
Then the other side.
Now you have a nice heart shaped petal with almost zero fuss.
For the tulips in Block 4 I made my template like this.
To baste them together I applied a little glue to the bottom of the center petal .
And Ta Da! A super simple tulip!
