When I first started this blog a couple of years ago I had absolutely no idea people would actually read it and what I would write about. As things have evolved I’ve discovered that if I write about quilting and appliqué people will actually READ what I have to say, which is very flattering by the way. Some of you may have noticed that the banner for this blog also has the words photography (my other passion) and travel (my other other passion) in it. Well, it turns out that there are much better people to write about photography than me. It also turns out that I haven’t been able to travel that much either. But since I haven’t found the time to do a new banner I thought I would throw in a quick photography post while I am working on Block 5 of My Tweets.
The other day my daughter had her FINAL high school orchestra concert. Over the past few years I have become the some-what official photographer for these events. I’ve been able to take pictures like these.
Now, as you might have guessed, flash is strictly forbidden during these events. So how do I do it? Well, first off I do have a DSLR. The lens I use almost ALL the time (even for blog posts) is this one.
Here is more info.
It has a very big aperture so you can take really great pictures in low light. If you want to learn more about this in a fun way, Pioneer Woman has some great articles on photography. You can find a short one on aperture here.
Also, this lens takes awesome pictures of flowers too!
