I order smaller collections from Cotton Club. From their home page just pick "aurifil thread club" and you'll see all the 10 small spool collections they offer.

How about the aurifil thread club at All That Thread? http://allthatthread.com/Regular%20Pages/Clubs.html

Hi Erin,

Check out the 20 pack from Pacific Rim Quilters
http://prqc.com/thread_applique.htm#20-spool-set

This has several greens and a bunch of other fabulous colors.

Hope this helps, Joanna

Hi again, Erin,

Just noticed that Pumpkinvine Corner
http://www.pumpkinvinecorner.com/Aurifil50wtmini.htm

has excellent prices on the favorite thread.

Hi Erin, I'll add my 2 cents to the comments. I have ordered the small spools of 50 wt. Aurifil thread from The Cotton Club, All That Thread, and Pacific Rim Quilters. All That Thread has the largest selection as they are also a distributor selling to quilt shops. I hope that you are able to get al the Aurifil that you want. Once I tried it, I was hooked. I ended up buying all the colors in 50 wt. (small spools), as well as all the colors in the 28 wt. (large spools). When I look at all that thread it reminds of having a new box crayons as a child. Oh What Fun! Best Regards and Happy Stitching! Jay

I cannot afford it either and would love some! I will post this to someone that I am friends with on fb that works for aurifil!

This is when it's good to stock up on the sample packs at quilt shows. . . I save those for hand-work. .

Hi Erin
Aurifil has already produced 2 collection boxes of the small 50 weight spools. Marti Michell & Kaye England each selected 10 colours to make up their boxes and there is also a set of 10 small 40wt spools selected by Pat Sloan.

Hi Erin,

Tristan Threads in Richmond B.C. is clearing out their aurifil threads in all sorts of different weights, cotton, polyester, wool.

Check them out and see if you like what they have left.

I've purchased from them and they mail out the next day. Any questions they have a 1-800 number.

Good luck,
Sandi

Erin,
Have you tried the silk thread by Superior Threads (www.superiorthreads.com/)? It is absolutely wonderful for applique. I've never had a thread disappear into the fabric like it before. If you can get a fairly close match on color, you just CAN'T tell that you have appliqued around your shape. I have several that I accidentally duplicated the color on and would be willing to send you one spool to try. Just e-mail me (myraung@yahoo.com) and let me know.

Sorry, but thought I should tell you: the silk from Superior Threads is 100 wt. and VERY strong. I just love it.

We sell individual spools of Aurifil here at our quilt shop, Quiltique (in Henderson, NV - just outside of Las Vegas). We have most colors in the small spools, and many colors in the large spools... plus cones of neutrals!
We don't show our threads in our online shop, but will happily take phone orders and ship this wonderful thread out to you! 702-563-8600 www.quiltique.com
