I have been noticing Dresden Plates a lot lately. First, there was this issue of McCall’s (September/October 2011) with a gorgeous Dreden quilt from Planted Seed Designs.
This magazine has a wonderful photo tutorial on using Darlene Zimmerman’s Easy Dresden Quilt tool. I have to admit I am pretty much a sucker for quilting tools and when I saw this I just had to give it a try.
Later I saw that Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs has a really fun Scrappy Plate Club going on over on her blog. She’s doing a quilt with all polka dot fabrics and it is totally adorable.
Then I saw this fabric (Terrain by Kate Spain) when I was out shopping on a dreary winter day and it was all over.
If the Dresden Bug has bitten you as well, Fat Quarter Shop is having a special on the ruler. It’s the “Notion of the Month” so order quick because it’s almost March!
amazing how popular the Dresdan is becoming yours is so colorful - you are doing them the way I like with the points.

I just started doing the Bunny Hill one- and I am totally addicted as well! I bought a background red a few months ago after I saw that quilt on the cover of that magazine- loved it! I can't believe how quickly they go together-and I love the applique on yours!

I love dresdens, but have not had any luck making them without them turning out wonky. LOVE the fabric you chose...gorgeous!

I'm starting to feel lonely out here on the "I don't really love dresdens" island. Hm... Maybe I'm missing something here....

I have made 2 dresden quilts and am working on my 3rd. With so much inspiration out there it is hard not to make one in every color possible!! They are definitely one of my all-time favorite quilts! Yours is looking lovely with the applique!

I am loving dresdens. There is a finish on my blog but it's nothing like the others you've seen. Now I want to move on to curved dresdens I am thinking.

Beautiful, Erin! I made many, many plates awhile ago & now I'll use your idea of setting them together. I really like the applique.
Thank you very much. You're an angel!
