I have to admit, I have a very weak spot in my heart for a certain color scheme. Whenever I see it I go a little weak in the knees and my heart skips a beat or two. If that color scheme shows up in a fabric line I am pretty much a lost cause until I own a little bit of each fabric...even if I have no idea what the heck I am going to make with it.
Well, that happened tome last week when I saw Kate Spain’s new fabric line Honey, Honey...it was bad my friends, as in BAD. After losing a little sleep I decided to give in a buy just a little bit of each fabric that I loved.
I also bought the Moda coordinating solids....
Any ideas what I should do with it? I’m desperately searching for some justification here.
No need to justify, Erin, this is just what we quilters do, period! Lovely fabrics and lovely colors! And I am sure you will come up with a brilliant idea (as always)!
(Only 8 berries left to appliqué and my Miss Kringle will be finished)

I totally understand the necessity of this buy. These would make adorable Dresden Plates, don't you think?

How about a quilt just for YOU, using YOUR favorite pattern or a design YOU always wanted to do....
Those fabrics sure are pretty!
Take care, Leslie

A Farmers Wife, or another 6" sampler style quilt of your own design, using mini- applique and pieced blocks.Kind of like a quilt log of blocks you have designed.

I've been looking for fabric, and love this! Thanks for sharing. I love brights with a white background.

Looking at those colors all I could think of was South Pacific, Tahiti, Caribbean .. I think there's a theme there. How about a new design just for this with orchids and gardenias, parrots and butterflies in mind? Maybe I'm just ready for a vacation. :)

My first thought is the same as the suggestion posted by Cornelia, Dresden Plate.

They are pretty..but we give you permission to just admire it until you are ready to start a new project (which, I'm sure it won't be far in the making)

Wonderful fabrics! Do you have an urge to do some English Paper Piecing? I think those fabrics would look amazing in a hexagon quilt. I think they would also look great in a Kaffe Fassett style scrappy quilt. So cheerful.

Oh goodness! I had the same reaction when I saw this fabric. I ordered it a couple of days ago and it should be arriving in my mailbox soon! I'm planning on making the Swoon pattern by Thimbleberries.http://thimbleblossoms.bigcartel.com/product/swoon-pattern-142-pdf-pattern I can't wait to see what you do with your stash.

These are so pretty that ANYTHING you do with them will be gorgeous. To me, this assortment looks like sorbet or gelato. Can you imagine if ICE CREAM came in all these gorgeous colors and PRINTS?! Oh, just imagining how big my BUTT would be because I just had to have a little bit of every flavor... ;-)

I totally understand. I can't figure out how to justify my own purcases. lol Someone else commented a suggestion of dresden plates. I think that is a great idea.

I think the best use of the gorgeous, GORGEOUS! fabric would be to send it to me. Really....I'd be happy to help you out of your dilemma.

Yum!!!!! I think this should be the basis for your 2014 BOM. How's that for justification? As if any quilter really needs justification for falling in love with fabrics ....

Dresdens are a big thing right now. They just had a blog hop about them.
Posted by: Sandra V | 01/31/2013 at 04:32 PM
Yes, I think you should also send it to me. What lovely colours, perhaps I should go buy them as well.

Well, if you really can't think of anything else to do with the fabric, you could give it to me! :) I am sure you will come up with something lovely--how would it not be with fabric like that?!

What about the scrappy trip along quilt...That way you could use lots and lots of these gorgeous fabrics....

I don't drink, smoke, do drugs or gamble...ahhhh fabric; my drug of choice. :D

I think every serious sewist/quilter would understand the draw to beautiful fabric. The first thought I had was dresden plate and you have the perfect pattern for it.

Hope that flu bug will be gone very soon, it's a bad one. Swooning over your new fabrics, yummy! Get better soon.
