Here is a little shot of my office this fine Monday morning...which means that today's Design Wall Monday is work related and all I can say is that I am super excited and you guys are going to love this project.

Many of you don't know this, but Quilter's Newsletter, Quiltmaker, and McCall's Quilting (as well as Sew News, Love of Knitting, and a variety of other magazines) are all owned by the same parent company, New Track Media. The ones I mentioned are all in the same building where I work so we have NO SHORTAGE of inspiring sewing kinds of things going on.
Anyway, my friend Mary Kate from Quilter's Newsletter and our completely awesome team of video people (that means you Brian, Don and Ashley) did this super fun behind the scenes video. Our magazine is really similar and I thought you would like watching this little glimpse of what we do. When you get to the part where you meet Gigi if you use your x-ray vision you will see my office right behind hers.

Oh and the Godzilla you see above? He is kinda a mascot for our group. We had a bunch of fun posing him the other week...that was my liitle scene...it has nothing to do with the video...but he is always on the set of our videos..and yes, he wears jewelry.
So, I started off this year thinking that I would do the Jingle BOM and start "Twitter" that big mandala like project and maybe a few small things here and there....well until I saw some of the Hello Gorgeous fabric collection by Windham. Next thing you know I had ordered some, and well one thing led to another and I designed a whole quilt. I guess that is why I am a designer. The first picture you see are some of the fabric and the first 2 blocks and the second is my photoshop mock up of where I am going with it.
One thing I learned about myself is that I like small take along projects, especially in the summer months when we are outside more. I LOVE my Twitter quilt and will be stitching it later this year, but it is WHITE and BIG and kinda hard to drag around so I think I will work small for the next few months, so I can sit outside.
