30 Years Ago...
I lost my mom. It's been more than half my life. This year, I actually oullived her. It's hitting me a little harder this year. I will be back later in the week with Fancy Flowers Lesson 4. Wishing my US readers a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Meara's Brave Journey
First off, October was a very good month for fund-raising around here. My sincere thanks to all of you who bought patterns. Because of this I am able to contribute to Meara's family to help offset some of her medical expenses, which have been considerable the last few years. Meara's family has been very special to our family for several years. Her mom, Megan, was my daughter's viola teacher. Even after Hannah stopped playing, Megan has been one of the most kind and supportive friends a person could ever want. And a wonderful roll model as well. If you are able, I hope you can join me in supporting this family through yet another expensive brain surgery. The surgery is tomorrow...but the recovery and rehabilitations is still to come.

Design Wall Monday
I hope you all enjoyed the first of Fancy Flowers quilt along. These videos will be going up weekly so if you follow along you will be applique experts by the end of the year! Which is a good thing because then you will be ready for my next Block of the Month...which I am getting ready as we speak. These pictures are sneak peaks. This will be a bit of a departure for me color wise...but with lot's of what I love too...like flowers and birds.
Now, I know some of you will say...
"Hey, that's not like the sneak peak from back in August"
And you are right, but don't worry, if you loved that one just consider it a sneak peak for another surprise I have up my sleeve for 2014.
Anyway...back to the design board. Be sure to check out Judy's blog for your weekly dose of design inspiration.
