Here is a shot of my design wall this Monday. I’m working on the first pieced block for the Be Happy BOM. As I was sewing this together I realized that this block is a slight variation of the very first quilt block I ever made. It’s so amazing to me that I still love doing this almost 30 years later!

The pieced block is called Swamp Angel and from my research, it's named after an artillery gun used by the Union army against Charleston (where Ft. Sumpter is). The gun is now in a museum in Trenton, NJ. No idea why it's in Jersey, though. Some quilt blocks have such interesting names!
