Home Again Finishing Directions

Hello everyone! Here are the finishing directions for several of the Home Again variations.

For the standard setting shown above with the Home Again center block:

Download Home Again AD-9 inch

Thanks to Becky Fielder for the diagram for the next two versions. For the version with the Welcome Home block and 7" applique blocks you will need to use 24 pieced blocks that finish at 4". She used 4-patches in her diagram. Please use the block of your choice here. You can find these directions here:

For the setting with the Welcome Home block and 9" applique blocks you will need 20 pieced blocks that finish at 6". She used 9-patches in her diagram. Please use the block of your choice here. You can find these directions here:

Workshop Wednesday: Trimming the Blocks

Here's a picture of my finished Home Again quilt top. I have it hanging on my design wall now and am loving how it turned out. 

Today I have a quick post on how I trimmed my blocks.

I picked up Karen Kay Buckley's special Perfect Adjustable Square while working at McCall's Quilting. It's very handy for trimming a wide range of applique block sizes and comes with terrific instructions.

Since these blocks finish at 7" they need to be trimmed to 7 1/2". I set the ruler up so the inside square measures 7" and drew an outline.

Then I aligned these lines with the 7 1/4" lines on my regular ruler like this and trimmed. Then I rotated the block and trimmed it all to 7 1/2". They were PERFECT!

Design Wall Monday...Coming Soon

Good morning friends!

Here is a peek at my design wall this morning. I have always loved basket quilts, especially ones that include applique. I find I'm in need of time to listen and learn right now and stitching by hand is the best way for me to do that. Once we are done with Home Again I will start posting these blocks. They will be free.

Our Hearts are Hurting

I have been trying to find the right words this week and have been completely unable so I will just let Pluto say the for me.
