Hello Applique Friends, it’s been a while but it’s good to be back. I’ve been on a social media sabbatical over here and am finally feeling rested and back to my normal sew crazy self. While I was away, I had a chance to design a fun project that I think you will all enjoy. If you have friends who want to learn applique invite them along for the ride.
I’m calling this one Applique School for now...I thought we could have a naming contest at the end. I love back-to-school time and miss it now that I’m not a student anymore. I figure it will give me a chance to show you all I’ve learned over the years so you can enjoy applique as much as I do.
Here’s the low-down. This quilt has 4 different applique block types. Each month I will release a set of 4 patterns. Then, during that month I will have tutorials on how to make the various blocks as well as ways to personalize your blocks. By the time we get to the end you will be all set up for applique success! Also, you will be ready to make the slightly more complicated center block which gets released at the end. Just 4 months and you will be a PRO!
Each pattern set will include fabric and cutting requirements as well as templates. By the time we are done you will have dozens of flowers and leaves that are “applique friendly” and will be well on your way to designing your own blocks and quilts.
Excited? I hope so. Please share with all your quilty friends. The more the merrier! Speaking of sharing, you can see what I’m up to on Instagram and Facebook by clicking the links on the right. Sometimes I post stuff there before here so it’s a good way to get a heads up.
The first set of patterns will be available next week.
